Advanced Counselling (Level 4 Award)

Advanced Counselling
NCFE (Level 4 Award)

A distance learning course is the ideal way to gain an Advanced Counselling award. Whether you're looking to go on to further education, improve your job prospects or expand your knowledge, distance learning Advanced  Counselling is a flexible and convenient course, which allows you to comprehensively prepare for an exam or career through home study. What's more, because the distance learning Level 4 Advanced Counselling course is a fully comprehensive course, no prior knowledge is required.

Counselling is a complex skill requiring a sound knowledge base and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As a counsellor you will meet clients presenting with a wide range of problems and of varying severity; it is vital therefore that you understand not only how to work with these issues, but also the factors that lead to these issues developing.

Advanced Counselling provides an in-depth look into the different models and types of therapy, and the skills you will need in order to help you work with clients effectively.  The course explores development and attachment theories, communication skills (such as empathy, clarification and challenge, goal setting, and listening) as well as values and anti-oppressive practice.  The course also addresses the current issues surrounding regulation of the profession and how this will affect trainee and qualified counsellors, as well as information regarding setting up your own practice.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
After studying this course, students will be able to:

Demonstrate their understanding of development and attachment
Understand the treatment models used in counselling
Demonstrate their ability to apply theory to their practical work with clients
Identify issues of setting up a private practice
Understand the purpose of regulation
Discuss the importance of communication and barriers to communication
Demonstrate their understanding of appearing as a professional expert / witness in court

Special offer!
For students enrolling on the Advanced Counselling course we are pleased to offer two fantastic opportunities:

Telephone Supervision
As you are aware, supervision is a requirement set by your professional body and can often cost between £40 - £50 per session.   We are therefore pleased to offer telephone supervision for £20 per hour (for 8 hours) when purchased at enrolment, instead of the usual £25, saving you £40!

We can now help to reduce this stress however, by offering students on the Advanced Counselling course your own website (up to 5 pages) and web hosting for a one off fee of £50.

Successful completion of the course provides students wishing to become counsellors, therapists, social workers, or those wanting to work elsewhere in the mental health field, the skills and theory required for working with clients with a range of diagnoses.

To benefit from these offers, please contact us after you have received your course materials.

HOME STUDY SUPPORT

You will be provided with comprehensive materials designed to provide you with everything required to complete your course of study. You will have your own personal tutor helping you with your course work and with any questions you may have.
